Gear: Sports Bras

juno_at_RRI don’t mean to overshare, but I am (and have always been) a busty gal, so shopping for sports bras was loathsome for me over the years until I discovered the Moving Comfort line of bras, specifically the Juno. If you are like me, you know how difficult it is to find a bra that doesn’t just hold your chest, but actually holds it in place while you are working out so that you don’t give yourself a black eye while running or doing any other intense cardio. The adjustable velcro straps, racer-back style and hook & eye closure allows you to customize it’s fit to you and ensure “the girls” stay right where you put them. At about $50 each they are a bit of an investment and I still rely on my Champion “uni-boob” sports bras for lighter cardio and strength training, but I NEVER venture out on a run without my Juno! Here you can see me wearing my Juno at the 2011 Phoenix Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. 🙂

Please note, it’s critical that you take care when washing – close the velcro straps on themselves and, preferably, wash them in a garment bag if washing with your other gym clothes to keep the hooks and velcro from catching. NEVER use fabric softener (I wash my gym clothes with Tide HE plus Febreze Freshness Sport to keep them smelling fabulous and wicking moisture away) and lay flat to dry. Most of this goes for your regular gym clothes too if you expect to keep them in good shape.
